Starkbierfest @ Notch Salem

STARKBIERFEST   

Every March in Munich, Starkbierfest (Strong Beer Fest) is celebrated with Bockbier, and Notch falls right in line with our own winter festival. Seasonal bock bier, Bavarian fare, and the Tuba Frau Hofbräu Band will set the tone for this much anticipated annual event. But what everyone really wants is a HOT POKE! As is tradition, a super heated steel rod is submerged in your bock bier to create a marshmallow type foam, but the beer stays cold. A perfect and entirely different cold weather treat.

BEER RELEASES:

Loggerhead Doppelbock - 8.2% ABV
Helles Bock - 6.7%
Rauch Helles Spezial - 5.5%

ADMISSION:

Free Admission includes live entertainment and a whole bunch of Gemütlichkeit.

Mug Workshop with Klayhouse Ceramics

In this workshop you will learn the basics of hand building using pinch pot techniques to make a mug. Once we cover the building techniques let your creativity run wild and I will be there to guide you along the way. 

In addition to building techniques, surface design such as stamping and creating attachments will be taught and used as needed for your individual design. We recommend you bring your own sketches or print outs of your favorite motifs, foraged plants from your yard, patterns and images to start your process!

Your pot will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the workshop. Tuition includes clay, tools, glaze, finishings and kiln firing. Beer and snacks will be available to purchase from Notch. Gentle words of encouragement and fun tunes will be provided.

Workshop if refundable up to 14 days prior to event, after this point it is non-refundable.

Tickets are $75 per person and include all supplies, glazes, and kiln firing.

Notch is hosting Jaju to celebrate 10 years of Jaju Pierogi, including a feast of Polish food and a DJ.

Your ticket gets you: All you can eat pierogi, a kielbasa dog, a golabki cabbage roll (golabek), a paczki donut (paczek), anniversary swag, and a beer ticket. Plus the music, of course! The taps will be open for additional beers.
