THE STANDARD

Czech Pils ||  4.4% ||  Czech Mug || 12° P
Taste: Lemon, Malty Sweetness, Bread
Notes: Classic Czech pale lager, brewed with floor-malted Pils malt and Sterling hops. Double decoction, open fermentation, and extended lagering time bring a bit of Plzen to Brighton and Salem.

POLOTMAVÝ

Czech Amber Lager || 4.2% || Czech Mug || 11° P

Notes: Polotmavy is Czech for “half-dark,” this 11° Plato Czech Amber Lager is brewed with Czech floor malted pils Vienna and Munich malts for notes of toast, caramel and bread. Czech Sladek hops balance out the malt and provide a spicy finish. This beer also undergoes a unique mashing schedule known as an enhanced double decoction for a more complex malt flavor. Open fermented, naturally carbonated, lagered forever

TMAVÝ

Czech Dark Lager || 4.5% || Czech Mug || 12° P
Taste: Sweet Dried Fruit, Toasted Dark Bread, Dry Finish
Notes: Tmavy is Czech for "dark". Double decocted, open fermented, naturally carbonated, lagered forever.

GERMAN & aUSTRIAN BIER

GERMAN AFTERNOONS

German Pils || 4.5% || Willi Becher
Taste: Crisp, Dry, Hoppy
Notes:  Brewed with 100% Bavarian heirloom Pils malt, Perle, and Spalter Select hops and fermented with a classic bavarian yeast strain. German Afternoons has an upfront malt fullness that quickly leads to a pleasant drying balanced bitterness. The floral hop aroma comes from Notch's favorite German variety - Spalter Select. Named for the John Prine album, a German Afternoon is a spontaneous afternoon spent enjoying yourself, with a beer or two, instead of doing the errands or chores you "should" be doing.

ZWICKEL BIER

Bavarian Pale Lager  ||  4.5%  || Willi Becher
Taste: Zesty, Bready, Floral
Notes: An unfiltered Bavarian pale lager traditionally served with a slight haze direct from the lagering tank. Hopped with Spalt, this beer displays a nice balance of malt sweetness and hop bite. Notes of lemon and citrus, supported by a bready, light body.

HEFE WEISSE

Bavarian Wheat Bier || 5.2% || Weisse Glass
Taste: Clove, Banana, Full-bodied
Notes: Classic Bavarian wheat beer and one of the most technically challenging beers we make. Open fermented for maximum aroma and flavor, with clove and banana aromas formed from the unique Bavarian yeast.

HOOTENANY

Berliner Weisse (Sour Wheat) || 3.5% || 14oz Willi Becher
Taste: Tart, Lemon, Dry
Notes: Now rarely seen as fruited sours have taken over in the US, the classic Berliner Weisse is low in alcohol, refreshingly tart, and served with woodruff or raspberry syrups. The Berliner Weisse presents a harmony between yeast and lactic acid. These beers are very pale in color, and may be cloudy as they are often unfiltered. Carbonation is very high, adding to the refreshment factor this style delivers.

DUNKEL BIER

Munich-style Dark Lager || 5.2% || Willi Becher
Taste: Bread Crust, Caramel, Toast
Notes: Our Munich Dark Lager uses 100% Munich malt with a unique mashing process known as an enhanced double decoction. Notes of bread crust, caramel, and toast with an aroma of toasted dark bread from the Munich malt. Dunkel was the most widely consumed lager in Bavaria previous to pale lager taking over.

LAGERS

rUMBLE IN BRIGHTON

Notes: Brewed in collaboration with Widowmaker Brewing employing a cereal mash. This Brighton Style Vienna Lager was brewed with Barke Vienna Malt, Bloody Butcher corn and Crystal Hops from Four Star Farm out of Northfield, MA. Rumble in Brighton is a deep golden color, with a malty sweetness, light breadiness, and a touch of honey rounded up by a soft spiciness from the Crystal Hops.

ALES

DOG & PONY SHOw

New England Pale Ale || 4.5% || Willi Becher
Taste: Bright, Kiwi, Pink Grapefruit
Notes: Brewed with wheat and pils malt, and hopped with only Citra.

OVER IT

British Dark Mild || 3.8% || Czech Mug
Taste: Bread Crust, Caramel, Toast
Notes: Once the most widely consumed style in England (until Bitter took over), malt and caramel are part of the flavor and aroma profile of the English-style mild. Though a darker beer, there is only a subtle roast character.

Charlestown Porter

London Porter || 5.4% || Willi Becher
Taste: Roasty, Chocolate, dry
Notes: A beer from founder Chris Lohring’s brewing past that he brewed in the Tremont Brewery in Charlestown. While close to the original, the original yeast used is no longer available, so we used another classic London strain.  A classic London style Ale that highlights chocolate and roasty notes, and while full, does not finish sweet. The style gained popularity, especially among working-class Londoners, due to its affordability and robust flavor.
