Our collaborative biergarten event series with The Trustees makes the first of two Sunday stops at one of the most picturesque sites in the Trustees care- Castle Hill at Crane Estate, in Ipswich, MA.
We'll be set-up right at the top of the breathtaking Grand Alleé, flanked by statues, evergreens, and a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Taking inspiration from Germany, we’re setting up tables, string lights, outdoor games and a cash bar serving Notch session beer in half liter steinkrugs. Each weekend will also offer unique events to help you relax and explore the Trustees’ beautiful sites. Call your friends, bring a picnic, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
There is an admission fee of $10 per car for non-Trustees members visiting Castle Hill. Card-carrying Trustees members can enter for free. Admission to Crane Beach also allows you to walk up the hill and visit the biergarten and mansion. Each admission includes a free self-guided tour of the home’s first floor.
About Castle Hill on Crane Estate: Plumbing magnate Richard Crane's 59-room, Stuart-style mansion, breathtaking gardens, lawns and views of the sea also provides a home to a wide variety of wildlife. The property is also home to The Inn at Castle Hill, and Crane Beach, a popular destination for beachgoers. While the details are too vast to recount here, we can assure you that you’ll be glad you came out to enjoy session beer in a truly picturesque setting.
The Trustees is a non-profit that preserves, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. Their network of over 100 farms, historic homes, and wooded areas spans from The Berkshires to the Cape and Islands and everywhere in between.
