Late July brings us to the comfort of shade and peaceful Chickering Pond, which instantly reminded us of Munich's world-renowned Seehaus Biergarten in the Englischen Garten.

Enjoy our selection of casual field games and the use of the Rocky Woods' volleyball set. Please bring a picnic and enjoy a lovely Friday evening with Notch and The Trustees! You can even take a walk to the top of 435-foot Cedar Hill.

Rocky Woods charges a $5 parking fee for all non-member cars.

About Rocky Woods: Rocky Woods' 491 acres have a rich history, that can be seen in the footpaths and logging roads that meander through its woods and wetlands. The reservation is situated with one foot within the Charles River watershed and the other foot within the drainage of the Neponset. Mill Brook, which flows through the Fork Factory wetlands, meanders southeast to the Neponset River, while Vine Brook, on the Rocky Woods side, flows southwest into the Charles. Five man-made ponds, the local watershed, and the surrounding trees provide a home to a wide range of wildlife including songbirds.

The Trustees is a non-profit that preserves, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. Their network of over 100 farms, historic homes, and wooded areas spans from The Berkshires to the Cape and Islands and everywhere in between.
